Distributed Energy Resources

Created in 2018, Hunt Energy Network signifies the next great chapter in Hunt’s storied history in actively developing and shaping the use of new energy technologies.

Teamwork In Action

Created in 2018, Hunt Energy Network signifies the next great chapter in Hunt’s storied history of actively developing and shaping the use of new energy technologies.

In many ways, Hunt Energy Network is a perfect compilation of the knowledge and skills that Hunt has acquired during our more than 20 years in the electric power space and over 85 years in the oil and gas industry. From acquiring land leases to finding engineering solutions to understanding the regulatory requirements in the ERCOT power market, the Hunt Energy Network team is a “one-stop shop” that focuses on what the grid will look like in the future.

Hunt Energy Network develops and deploys energy storage assets (batteries) that will provide the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) with a portfolio of distributed, coordinated, fast-responding generation and load resources to efficiently balance power across the grid. Hunt Energy Network’s proprietary TraDER platform, which creates data-driven strategies for project siting and asset optimization in competitive markets, will automate trading and settlement activities across the portfolio.

Hunt Energy Network and its affiliates currently have 100 MWs of energy storage assets in advanced development throughout ERCOT, with a goal of creating a portfolio of 500 MWs over the next four years.

While renewable energy sources are rapidly becoming a larger part of the overall energy mix, the environmental benefits of their clean power are often counteracted by the inability to dispatch electricity when resources are scarce.

Hunt Energy Network’s battery storage assets are incredibly valuable for this very reason – when the grid needs resources the most, our storage assets are better able to manage and dispatch electricity created by these renewable energy sources.
