David L. Carroll is senior vice president and general counsel of Hunt Refining Company, located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In this capacity, he provides legal counsel and participates in the management and formulation of policy for the Hunt Refining organization. He is also responsible for addressing legal issues affecting the organization and protecting its legal rights. In addition, he provides overview and guidance for the human resources, security and environmental functions. Caroll is also vice president and secretary of Hunt Southland Refining Company.
Prior to joining Hunt Refining in June 1999, Carroll was a partner with Rosen, Cook, Sledge, Davis, Carroll and Cade, P.A. His experience included commercial litigation, employment law, commercial transactions and real estate.
He is admitted to practice in all state courts in the state of Alabama, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
He is a member of various professional organizations, including the American, Alabama and Tuscaloosa County Bar Associations, the Safety and Environmental Committee of the National Petrochemical Refiners Association, the American Corporate Counsel Association and Manufacture Alabama, a state trade organization, where he serves as chair of the Legal Committee. He also serves on the board of the Warrior Tombigbee Waterway Association and on the boards of several charitable organizations in the Tuscaloosa community.
Carroll earned both a bachelor’s in English and a juris doctor from the University of Alabama.
